Yunusa Tanko, a leader of the Labour Party, claimed in an interview with Arise News that many Nigerians would have been rejoicing by now if Peter Obi had indeed been named president-elect.
The spokesperson for the Labour Party presidential campaign council claimed in the interview that ever since Bola Tinubu was declared the winner, everything has been depressing.
Imagine Peter Obi's election as president-elect, Yunusa Tanko stated, and there would have been a joy. Due to the potential of a new Nigeria, people would have been drinking water on top of the tarmac. But now that the statement has been made in the reverse case, everyone is acting as though nothing has been said.
"That sends out a very loud message—the Nigerian people are not happy, I can tell you that much. Some folks are merely making do with the circumstances that have arisen. But how much longer can we put up with what happened? We are still afraid and are not treated with respect, thus we are unable to proceed from point A to point B.
