CSP Adejobi replies man who asked if a policeman on mufti can search people on the road

Yesterday, a Twitter user who was reacting to CSP Olumuyiwa Prince Adejobi's tweet asked if a policeman without a search warrant, can just stop an individual on the road and search the person's bag.

While CSP Adejobi, who happens to be the Force Public Relations Officer, from NPF Headquarters in Abuja, was replying, he said it is possible, and that is if the policeman has conviction that the person is hiding something incriminate.

Due to this, another Twitter user asked if a police officer, who is on mufti, can search people or their bags.

The usee said, "Sir, what about the ones without uniforms or just on police top."

While responding, Adejobi told him that a policeman is a police man, even if the person is on mufti, he can still discharge his duty.

He said, "A policeman is a policeman. Even if hes on mufti, he can discharge his duties as lawfully as possible. So far he has his warrant card or IDon him, and can be professional."
